IWA Games Club: A de-stressing, brain-stimulating, fun club!
Playing makes you more positive and productive. It enhances cognitive function and decision making, and helps create lasting bonds. Board games transcend generations and are all inclusive. It demands engagement and attentiveness. It’s a way to do a digital detox.
At the IWA Games Club, we play a variety of board games such as Mahjong, Bridge, Scrabble etc. which are not only fun but also stimulate the brain. These strategic games exhilarate you every time you win a hand. Playing games also improves coordination, attention, concentration, memory, problem-solving skills and is a great source of learning. We organise interactive games such as Dumb Charades and antakshari which help the players have fun as well as bond with each other.
Games Club meets every third Monday of the month. We meet at a designated venue, play games and share snacks.
2019 was a banner year for the IWA Games Club. We added Bridge and Sequence to our list of favorites and these have now joined Mahjong as Games Club staples. We also tried out and learned new games brought by members through the year. During the year, Games Club joined hands with Acts of Kindness Club to treat senior citizens at Carelight Wellness Center to games, prizes and yummy food prepared by members. The year ended with the Games Bash, which was a smashing success with full-house attendance. There was game-themed decor, a hat competition that brought out individual creativity, lots of different games and delicious food. "We feasted.... We frolicked... We flaunted our fashionable flair... and had a blast!"
We are looking forward to more fun and games in the coming months. So join us and - Let the Games Begin!
