I-CARE - Giving back to the Community

Together we Care•Connect•Celebrate

The IWA I-Care events provide an opportunity to engage in community outreach activities. The aim is to create a sense of ownership so that the volunteers come away with a fulfilled sense of caring for the needs of the wider community in Singapore.

Some of the I-CARE activities undertaken by IWA are:

  • Programs or events with other social welfare organisations such as Community Centres, organisations involved with elderly engagement etc.
  • Tuitions by individuals through Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA)
  • Celebrating festivals and birthdays with the residents of the eldercare centre, Sunshine Welfare Action Mission (SWAMI Home): once every quarter
  • Outreach for migrant workers in partnership with the Humanitarian Organisation for Migration Economics (H.O.M.E.) and Transient Workers Count Too (TWC2)
  • Scholarships for deserving Singaporean students (chosen in accordance with MOE & University guidelines) at the Singapore Management University (SMU) and the Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD)
  • Collection camps for donation drives organized for NGOs
