A Unique Opportunity Not To Be Missed

A Book, A Talk, & Some Memories...

IWA and the Li Ka Shing Library at SMU jointly invite you to meet Dr. Julie Mehta, founding President of the Indian Women’s Association (IWA), who will take us on a trip down memory lane, talking about the early years of IWA, her vision and challenges.

Dr Julie Mehta is in Singapore for just three days for the launch of “Strongman: The Extraordinary Life of Hun Sen”, a book she has co-authored with her husband and fellow academic, Dr. Harish Mehta. It tells the gripping story of the rapid rise to power of Cambodia’s Prime Minister, based on new information from recently declassified CIA, NSA, and other archives, as well as extensive interviews for over a decade conducted with Hun Sen and his family. The Mehtas are the only people to whom he has granted such interviews.

We will get a sneak preview of their new book before its Singapore launch. Dr. Julie & Dr. Harish Mehta will talk about their book, answer questions, and sign copies!

Both the Mehtas live in Toronto, Canada, where they teach at university. They both have earlier lived in Singapore and Bangkok. Dr. Harish Mehta also worked earlier for the Straits Times.

We look forward to an interactive session with both the authors and you.
