Inspire & Inform about the Process, Techniques, Design and History of Textile Arts

The IWA Textile Club is an enjoyable, creative way to explore art techniques and learn about fabrics and textiles. As a member of the group, you will have the chance to experience a range of fashion and textile presentations on different weaves, types of textiles, techniques of printing, dyeing, designing, manipulating fabric, felt making and embellishing fabrics. The history of textiles is as old as human evolution and ties very intimately with human evolution. There will be showcasing of garments, styles, fabrics as well as fashion walks, interviews, quizzes and more. More importantly, we will share with each other how we can make informed decisions about our clothing based on factors such as sustainability, environmentally friendly dressing and conscious choices.

Monthly meetings cover a range of topics for learners, art buffs, history buffs, fashionistas and connoisseurs.

When: Second Friday of the month, 10.30 am to 12.30 pm
